Field internal id change on customer record?

We noticed last week that one of our formula fields broke.  When we dug-in it appears that we needed to change the field internal id below from {altname} to {glommedname}.  Is anybody aware of a recent change to the internal ID's on customer records? Oddly we could not find any reference to {glommedname} on the records browser.  Case 1948930.  Support asked if we wanted to add the internal id to the records browser. The below formula works in the sandbox but not production, leading me to think that something has changed on our end or in the table structure.
