Purchase Order Approval Routing based on Financial Delegation Matrix, is it possible?

Hi All:
Picking brains here... we would like to have the PO approval routing based on a financial delegation matrix. And will have multiple approvers in each band.
e.g. Band 1 $1000, Band 2 $5000.

The routing will need to be smart enough so that if a PO is over $1000 then will go to the approvers in Band 2.

I know the standard workflow routing can only point to 1 next approver, is there any way to have the routing based on a matrix?
