Progress Bar (or something) while I update Sales Order lines client side

Arg.  Thought I could nail this one.  I've got a lightweight script that loops through lines of a Sales Order and updates a field.  Since there could be lots of lines, I wanted to indicate to the user that the script is still running.  So, a spinner, progress bar ... heck anything visual.

I've tried using the Ext.Messagebox API in a sorts of variations.  The issue is, the API's used to modify the lines block UI changes ... so the net result is nothing.

Any suggestions?
