Wrokflow created task - associate with trransaction?

I have a work flow that creates a task. The workflow is the result of a saved search. I want to associate the task with transaction to which is relates. I have set "Transaction" = "Created from" but this does not appear to work. What I have done is create a saved search for sales orders that are pending fulfilment for 4 days. At this point I escalate them back tot he salesman for investigation. In the salesman's dashboard a new task appears but there is no link from it to the transaction.

It is possible to create a link to the transaction in the task and if so how? I can post other screen shots if required.
