Customize Global Search

When we type in a Customer's name in the global search, the auto suggest will suggest the customer record, the Opportunity and maybe some other files but it won't suggest a Sales Order that is associated with the customer.  I find it strange that it will suggest an Opportunity but not a Sales Order.  Is there a way to configure this?
