Email Plug-in Reliability

Just wanted to gather feedback on people's experiences with the email plug-in and how reliable it is? We are looking to implement a critical process using the plugin and the thought of losing data  gives me nightmares.

We ran some tests in the sandbox environment and for some reason it did seem to miss about half a dozen emails sent :eek:
