Landed Cost function appears to be incorrect

edited Dec 13, 2019 11:47PM in General 8 comments

I think there may be an issue with landed cost.

I found this to be the case on the beta and made a report. I’ve now tried it for real and I think it’s the same problem.

To make landed cost work, I think you have to do the following:

1. Create Expense Accounts to temporally hold the cost of shipping e.g. duty, freight, etc. These are in essence suspense accounts on the P&L as they should be zero once all landed costs have been correctly applied. Personally I think I’d have preferred these to be on the B/L as prepayments (current assets) to give a better management account picture, but that’s neither here nor there currently. I think that’s easy enough for NetSuite to change – just allow the accounts to be set up anywhere on the CoA.

Howdy, Stranger!
