Custom Left hand Nav version 11

Has anyone experimented with the new ability to customize the left hand nav for the web store? I noticed in the release notes that this was available but have not experimented with it. Do you know if it allows you use the mouse over format? We currently use a mouse over format but it is not integrated in netsuite and we have manually adjust our nav every time we adjust our categories
