Can't create invoices related to Jobs

We use the advanced job tracking module to track service projects.  We track expenses and time to those jobs.  We have run into a MAJOR PROBLEM where we get unexpected errors when attempting to create a Invoice from and Sales Order associated with a job.  If we remove the association between the SO and the job I am able to create the invoice (no unexpected error) but we are not able to invoice the time and expenses associated to the job.

This does not happen on all invoices created from SOs related to jobs and I have been unable to find any rhyme or reason to it.
