When will smbxml be phased out?

I've been reading a lot about how smbxml will be phased out.  I'm guessing this means system to system integration as well.  I'm wondering what the time frame for this.  I have a few smaller integration paths that are still using s2s and smbxml so I'd like to figure out when I'd need to get them to web services.  BTW s2s and the security handshake is 10 times faster (i'm exaggerating a little bit) than web services logins.
