2007.0.5 and nlapiSearchRecord

Did v2007.0.5 change the way nlapiSearchRecord works?

Used to be, if your search did not find anything, it returned null.

This morning, I found one of my scripts was returning an object, with a length property of 0.

Is this some sort of fluke in my script or did the function change?
