"type ahead" feature

I want to shut down the "type ahead" feature on cash sales and bills entered in-house.
This feature slows down data entry greatly and is not consistant.

Drives me batty! 

Used to be that "type ahead" could be toggled off and on in set-up, but I can no longer find that option.
