can you change the Default Cost Estimate Type for an inventory item?

edited Dec 13, 2019 11:43PM in General 3 comments

Having switched on the Gross Profit feature in our business my team members would like to have all the figures based on the Purchase Price field in the item record - not Average Cost that all our items seem to be set up at.

In the help file it says that using mass update is possible to change this to Puchase Price for all records - that is fine. However what happens when we add a new item manually - I think it will default to Average again - I would like to set this default to Purchase Price.

Does anybody also have any comments on if this is a good idea or not?

Howdy, Stranger!
