display in website=off on matrix items not working

After upgrade, when we have a matrix item with some of the matrix sub items set to not display in website and other set to display, they all display

we checked across several computers with cache cleared and have the same problem

for example this item
http://store.madebysurvivors.com/Becky-Purse?sc=2&category=42

should only show bronze and white as choices but it shows more even though they are set to not display

this used to be a problem several versions ago but has been working well for some time
