Appropriate use of Workflow Manager

I'm interested in the new workflow manager feature and whether it may be capable of automating a workflow which I have in mind.
Background:
We use a short telephone survey to qualify new leads and gather any information required before passing them on to our phone sales team. This survey is setup as a custom record type in Netsuite and a new survey is created and linked to every new lead. Depending on the responses to this survey (ie, field values in the custom record type), leads are either rejected and assigned a status of LEAD-Closed-Rejected, or are accepted and assigned a status of PROSPECT-Ready to Contact.
