Error Warning on Contact records with new release

My company just had the 2014.1 Release implemented on Friday night and I noticed something odd on a few of our contacts now. I'm getting this error warning on some contacts:

"The following email addresses have experienced hard bounces recently:
britton@ohiostatealumni.org Error Message: Unknown User"

I like the idea of this warning however on the records in question, there has been no emails sent to this contact recently so i'm curious as to what dictates when this message shows. Anyone know by chance?
