System generated emails - attachment not being recognised as a PDF

Since our upgrade, system generated emails (we email the quote to the customer on creation) the file attached on the email is not being recognised as a PDF.  It comes through with no extension and "null" in the title.  The above is what the email now looks like...

Previously this cam through as "order_XXXXX.pdf".

When I look at the transaction in NS and look at the email message and the attachment, it appears to the a PDF file.

Any ideas?
