Generate normal pick pack ship process from sales order

We often insist on upfront payments before shipping anything. Though the cash sale system doesn't produce a picking ticket or await fulfillment.

Currently we are using the Cash Sale docket as a picking ticket / delivery docket. Is there another - more sensible way?

Would appreciate any help.
