Email customers when order has been fulfilled

We process all of our orders drop-ship so nothing comes from here. We fulfil based on when the order either is shipped by the distributor or when we get a bill for the product.

Either way, we'd like for when we fully fulfill an SO, to alert the customer with an email automatically from NS.

Is this possible or am I dreaming?
