UPS Integration a better way

We had a meeting with UPS today and they proposed integrating UPS World Ship with NetSuite via Web Services via ODBC.  The said this was much better and faster than using the online API process bundled with NetSuite.  Has anyone else been approached by UPS with this solution and has there been any success?

It sounded like a great idea where UPS and NetSuite would exchange complete information.  In turn we could do some cost analysis of our bills, and pull reports that would contain shipping margin on a per order basis.
