CSV Import of Fulfillments - Broken?

I've seen a lot of negative comments about this functionality.

Anyone want to share their experience with this functionality and if they have gotten it to work successfully?

Using sales orders with a non-integrated shipping method - I can do an import and fulfillments get created, however they do not have the tracking numbers in them.  In addition, if I have multiple tracking numbers for a given sales order (think multiple packages) - the import just dies altogether.

I also tried to do an import on the Beta 2007 site and the whole thing doesn't work at all - even the scenarios that worked above.
