Non-Inventory For Resale SERIALIED Inventory

Is it possible to create a Non-Inventory For Resale SERIALIZED Inventory item that Drop Ships?

The application is so that I can send an automated Purchase Order to a Vendor who will fulfill the drop shipment AND enter the serial number of the item shipped at the time of fulfillment.  I need to track those serial numbers back to the customer it shipped to for warrenty servicing purposes.
