What is the most elegant solution for managing  multiple "Customer" delivery addresses for a Single Sales Order

e.g. 5 items on the SO to deliver to 3 Customer Locations...sub-customers of main customer...

How would you manage Item fulfillment?

How would this be managed if Items are drop-ships?
