Drop Ship PO's - create po not working properly

Used to be, if you closed a PO that was created from a drop-shipped sales order line, the sales order would allow you to create another PO. 

Now, if you close a PO created from a drop ship sales order, the PO stays linked with the SO, even though it is closed. THere is no way to create a new PO for that sales item.

Is this a bug or is there another way to create a new PO from the drop ship sales order line.
