Changing an obsolete item on existing Sales Orders

Hello,

We have approximately 800 open Sales Orders that need to have one item changed to another item.

Item WIDGET A is included on virtually every single sales order, we have sourced a better widget called WIDGET B and wish to change all the existing sales orders, replacing the item line WIDGET A with one for WIDGET B - the quantity and pricing will stay the same.

I've asked support if there is a straightforward way of doing this and have been added to an Enhancement Request.

Has anybody out there in NetSuite world ever done this? The only way I can see of achieving it is via Web Services or maybe CSV.
