Netsuite Message to customer

Hi,

Just noticed today that something strange is going on with my message template in Netsuite.

The Customer <NLFIRSTNAME>

is showing up as Dear <NLFIRSTNAME>, in the message preview and the first name did not actually appear in the email to customer.

What is wrong?
