FedEx Calculation Errors, Quotes & Sales Orders

We recently added FedEx as carrier and all is working well until we have a quote or sales order that list multiple items that total a weight of 150lbs or more. 

1) When shipping cost calcultation is submitted we receive this error: "if an individual package for this order weighs over 150lbs, it must be shipped using FedEx Freight service".

2) The items weight= 3.4 pounds each. 
3) UPS calculates the shipping properly.
3) Inventory Item set-up was reviewed and all seems correct.
4) Changed the FedEx "rates" to negotiated rates, (No change)
5) It appears that FedEx is seeing the multiple items as 1 unit, (I assume).
