best workflow for outsourcing fulfillment

Im working on an EDI solution but to make this easier to talk about lets assume I am just using CSV.  We have been doing our own fulfillment and are about to outsource it.

I changed so that all new orders are pending approval.  When approved I have a CSV export via a saved search that will send the data to the fulfillment center.,

But what then?  Do I have to import a file that has the shipping information and change the status to fulfilled?  Does that feature exist in NS or will I have to do this another way.
