Handling Gift Orders

I suppose it's not a function that the majority of NS users might be interested in, but we are a gifting-driven site so any advice that others have in the graceful handling of gift orders within Netsuite would be very much appreciated.

I would also like to know if there is currently a way of possibly handling the shipment of several gifts to different recipients in the NS cart other than having the customer place multiple orders with different shipping addresses.
