Sales Reps able to quote shipping

The Salespeople here want to be able to quote shipping costs to customers with their orders.  The problem is to do that accurately the sales person also needs to know the dimensions of the box and quite a few rules about shipping to get an accurate cost.

How are NetSuite users handling this?  The packing material added to the box changes the weight and many times gives an inaccurate quote to the customer.

We are a new company and I'm learning Netsuite and shipping workflows.  I'd love it if anyone out there is willing to mentor me a little on shipping and fulfillment issues.
