Bar Codes

Our products are packed and shipped in master cartons of X number of units per box. When scanning in the bar code, we need the provision of either scanning in the product UPC for quantity 1 of the product or the master carton UPC for quantity of X, where X could be 2 or 24 or 48 or ? This will eliminate having to scan the UPC Code of a particular product say 24 times when all we need to do is scan it 1 time. How do we do this within NetSuite?
