Anyway to save some steps printing packing slips?

We are trying to cut out some of the redundant steps in our fulfillment process. Currently, to print it takes three steps to print a packing slip.  When we click “Print” or “Save and Print” from the item fulfillment screen we would like the Packing List to just print. 
Currently, it opens a PDF version of the Packing Slip in Adobe Reader, then we have to Select Print in Adobe, then the Printer properties in Adobe pops up and we have to hit print from there.  So it’s three steps for each packing slip.  Anyone know a way to have it just print the packing slip directly?  In another thread someone said there might be middleware, but I’ve searched the web and so far haven’t found anything.
