Hide PO Line Item Amount?

I would like to know how to hide the Purchase Order Item level amount field.  The custom transaction from has this field grayed out.

I have developed a custom transaction from that will be used to show internal staff what items in what quantity are on-order.  I need to block the item total dollar amount.
