Customer Default Shipping method not appearing on Sales Order

The shipping method entered into the customer record field "shipping Item", is not showing up on a new Sales Order "Ship Via" field.   This just started happening as we began to activate the "integrate shipping label" feature for UPS.  Any thoughts
