Block certain dates from being selected on sales orders

Is there any way to block certain 'holiday' dates from being selected at the sales order level for the ship date?  As there are many holidays throughout the year, our sales team has on occasion selected dates where we are closed.

Does anyone know of an easy way to prevent dates from being selectable based on some sort of criteria, even the holiday dates that can be entered in the shipping setup?
