changing location for a subsidiary

I am using net suite oneworld and have several Locations. I have a Location for  CompanyABC set to be a sublocation of another Location. I was wondering if I can just edit the CompanyABC's Location so the sublocation = blank instead of a sublocation. Is that possible? What affects will that have on items, etc, etc?

In other words, I'd like to change one subsidiaries location. Going from a sublocation to a new location that i will create. I'm wondering what problems that could cause...
