Blanket POs and Supply Plans

I’m doing a little research on the effect of Blanket POs on the Demand/Supply Plan. 

My question is whether there is any interaction between the Demand/Supply Plan and a Blank PO. It appears that when a supply plan is generated, that the recommended POs to order are not affected by an open Blanket PO. i.e. Blanket POs are not taken into account when a Supply Plan is generated. In other words, the Supply Plan doesn't "consume" a quantity from the Blanket PO.
