Setting Default Shipping

We are using Support (i.e. Cases) which automatically create leads in the system. When the system does this it loads the address, tags it as "Default Billing". As the usual case is that this is also the only Shipping address, I wish to set this entry as the Default Shipping address as well without having to enter it by hand for each customer. Where/how do you force the Default Shipping field to "yes" upon customer/lead creation?
