Thermal Printer Windows 8

Has anyone set up thermal printing to a USB thermal printer (EPL2) on a computer using Windows 8?  I followed the same instructions that were provided on the help guide, which opens the label.bat file, but nothing is sent to the printer.  Any help here would be appreciated.
