Shipping Default Cost Changed

We have our default weight on items to be 0, so that when we create an invoice for a seminar (no shipping needed) it is a $0 shipping cost. This has been set up for years. Last Friday, all the sudden we have to calculate shipping on every invoice for a seminar. Very tedious.  I think this was something NS did on their "Thursday night fixes" in the background, since we did not change anything at all.  Any suggestions?
