USPS & FedEx SmartPost tracking numbers not working from Item Fulfillment page

Does anyone know why we wouldn't be able to click through a tracking number from the fulfillment or sales order for USPS and FedEx Smart Post shipping methods?

The error message we get is "Package Tracking is not available for id 61290983480020625048. Unknown carrier."
