Backordered Items - combine 2 sales orders

I am new to NetSuite and I have been running into a few things that make it difficult to process orders.  If I have 2 open sales orders for one customer and we receive inventory.  I would like to be able to combine those 2 sales order and process it as one.  Is that possible?
