Not a developer.....need custom code for System Notes

Help.....I was told by NS that there is no custom code for System Notes......and I could ask our developer (dont have one) to create a Script...

I was trying to create a formula in a search that includes the System Notes Date minus today's date.....simple, right?

Is a developer the only way?  Why does NS let me extract this data but not use it in a formula..?!?!?
