Search/Report to list "New Customer" Sales

I'm trying to create a report or search that will show me Any Customer that was created in 2007 and their sales.  BUT, when I filter on created date, I also get new jobs, even though the customer may have been set up years ago.  I can't filter out "jobs" because if it's a new customer I want to see those sales.
I'm I missing something?
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
