Customer count error

Hello,
  I am trying to design a metric that lets me know how well my sales reps are utilizing their customer base.
To do this, I made a report using the customer count, added another customer count field, changed the first customer count date range to the last quarter, and then added a function field that would give me the percentage.

The report works fine, but I am getting the wrong amount of customers for the last quarter.

Any thougths on what I am doing wrong/how to fix the problem, or how to get the metric a different way?
