Basic Event Search

Is anyone else having the same criteria defect involving an event search with a criteria of event date = this month ... any events created on April 30th are not counting for the month of April??  I manually moved a few event dates back to April 29th and they magically re-appear on the search, but anything with an April 30th date is omitted.
