Date of First Sale by Item?

Hello..

I have a feeling I am missing...can anyone point me in right direction?

I know there is a way to get 'Date of First Sale by Customer'.....but frequently, we will design/sell NEW ITEMS to our EXISTING customers.

I am trying to run a report/search that will tell me what NEW PART #'s we sold in a given period and I am having trouble finding how to get data..

Note: I did find when trying to customize a Sales by Item report the "Last Transaction Date" available as a Column Tab, but unfortunately its not availalbe on the Filter Tab.  Thought I could trick the date to say NOT between "x" date thru "X" date.....  No luck.
