PO Report for outstanding items

I'm trying to create a report which I thought would be simple...... but isn't!
I want a report that will show all outstanding items from selected vendors. It's a bit like the Open PO report, except that I want it to show items, date ordered an qty outstanding. The hard bit is limiting it to one vendor.
The idea is that I can run a report and send it to the vendor as a kind of back order report for them. We mainly use drop shippers and need a way to 'remind' them of items that are outstanding. I wanted to use reports rather than searches so that I could schedule it to be emailed automatically once a week.
