Count subtotal in custom reports

Hi I am trying to build a custom report for our sales team that will give them a count of how many invoices they have created by day/month etc.  No need for dollar values just want the number.

Can get it so that its listing them all but can't seem to be able to produce one with a count subtotal?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
