Restrict Reports tab

can I hide the reports tab altogether I don't want a specific role to view any reports or searches. I have been able to lock down searches I can click on reports : saved reports : all saved reports. This shows a blank report and in the footer it has a drop down for owner. The main field I don't want to show is "Owner". This shows all employees even if they are inactive. HELP please
